Annual General Meeting

Consulting Engineers of Ontario (CEO)’s 2017 Annual General Meeting was hosted on June 15, 2017 at the Royal Canadian Military Institute in Toronto, Ontario.

The AGM not only served as a forum to reflect on the key activities CEO has achieved over the past year, but also to discuss the association’s newly launched Rapid Response Program.

In his speech, the outgoing Chair, Peter Mallory, emphasized the important role CEO plays in promoting a sustainable business environment for our members. He said “CEO’s advocacy - Government Relations activities included a very successful Queen’s Park Day that facilitated our input into a number of government activities, policies and legislation including significant input into the ongoing Construction Lien Act review.”

Chief Executive Officer Barry Steinberg gave a report summarizing how CEO has listened to the members’ voice and fulfilled the association’s value propositions. Also during his speech, he encouraged members to get more involved in the association’s chapter and committee activities.

“The success of CEO and our profession rests on the full co-operation and commitment of all CEO member firms. In order to fulfill our mission statement – to promote a sustainable business environment – we need to act as one community and acknowledge that it's important for the association and the members to work together as one team on a meaningful level,” said Steinberg.

As part of the program, Bill Allison, Chair of the CEO’s Business Risk Committee and Chas Pilgrim, CEO’s Procurement and Contract Specialist, gave a special presentation to members explaining the process of the Rapid Response Team. For more information, click here.
