SPEAKER: Jill Chitra, P.Eng., M.B.A., and Certified Integral Master Coach

Jill has over 30 years’ experience as a project engineer, project manager, and senior executive in leading large and complex multi-year projects, as well developing and coaching individuals as a leadership coach.

Project management is both a method and a set of skills for planning, organizing and managing a project from inception to its completion.  It is more than a technical discipline. To be an effective project manager requires equal attention to sociocultural elements (i.e. people skills).
Advantages of well executed project management are better control of financial, physical and human resources, resulting in improvements in numerous outcomes including design time, quality, reliability, profitability and overall client satisfaction.
Successful project managers
  • Handle projects effectively and more consistently
  • Lead project teams effectively and communicate well
  • Earn progressively more challenging and interesting assignments
  • Are highly valued by clients and their firms
What sets them apart is more than their technical competency, but rather their people skills.  In short, what is referred to as emotional intelligence or ‘EQ’.  Even more interesting is that EQ, unlike IQ, can be developed and acquired over time.
This four-hour intensive workshop will focus on these soft skills and attributes key to successful project managers.  Specifically, what are they, how do we know if we have them, and how can we improve them over time? Participants will experience interactive exercises to learn about the attributes of EQ and how they are measured, diagnostic tools for self-assessment, and development strategies.
