November 27, 2019
5:00 PM - 8:00 PM

Stantec Office - Boardroom 501/502
1331 Clyde Avenue
Ottawa, ON

Construction law lawyers Andrew Ferguson and his associate Chad Piovesan, both from MBC Law Professional Corporation in Ottawa, will introduce the changes to the new Construction Act, which came into force on July 1, 2018.  Among the major changes discussed will be the increased timelines to lien, new requirements when terminating a subcontract, the mandatory prompt payment regime to make funds flow faster, and the implementation of mandatory adjudication to fast-track dispute resolution.  The presentation will also provide some tips on how to protect your company’s rights with respect to the changes in the new Construction Act.  Attendees will have an opportunity to ask questions and discuss how the new changes have and will impact construction projects going forward.

Andrew was called to the Bar in 2009 and is a partner with MBC Law.  He practices civil litigation with a focus on construction law, bankruptcy and insolvency law, and general civil litigation matters.
